No-Bake Furan Resin Systems

No-Bake Furan Resins
FURANOL™

Furan resins are preferred in many casting which needs high strength. No-bake furan resin has been offered to the national and international casting market by brand name FURANOL™ in many years. Traditional furan resins are divided into two different types as phenol-formaldehyde and urea-formaldehyde based. Furan resin is produced via phenol-formaldehyde or urea-formaldehyde condensation which is mixed with furfuryl alcohol. The both types of furan resins have different curing mechanisms used in the production of various size casting.

In new-generation hybrid resins, furfuryl alcohol has a role in the polymerization reaction. The nitrogenous compounds in furan resin are used to stabilize the reaction, improve molding properties and shake out easily after casting.

Hardeners for No-bake Furan Resins
FURANOL SERTER™ CS

FURANOL™ resins cured with acid-based catalysts without the addition of heat or gas. Generally, FURANOL SERTER™ CS catalysts are mixtures of aromatic sulfonic acids and/or inorganic acids. Different hardeners are preferred according to the ambient temperature.
