Exothermic powders are used in top of open feeder sleeve. It prolongs the cooling time of the metal at top of the open feeders by preventing the interaction of the casting metal in the feeder metal with the air. The energy released as a result of the exothermic reaction prevents crust during the cooling of the metal from the top. Thus, it helps to increase the feeding distance by using the feeder sleeve. Usage amounts of the powders can be preferred to apply according to the size of the feeder.  It is produced with formulations that create low gas and generate high energy.
