History

Çukurova Kimya Endüstrisi A.Ş. started to produce phenol-formaldehyde and furan resins and related catalysts under the "Fordath / UK License" in 1974, and it is Turkey's pioneer and only facility producing furfural, furfuryl alcohol and casting resins in those years.

As new binder technologies emerged in the foundry resins market, Çukurova Kimya signed another licence agreement in 1989 with the then Borden Chemical  U.K. Ltd. (currently Hexion Speciality Chemicals) to produce ester cured alkaline phenolic resins.

Along with the research and innovation studies company began to produce exothermic and insulation feeder sleeves in 1991 and important success in alkaline phenolic resins in the same years as well. Çukurova Chemical Industry, with its experience and technological research opportunities gained over time, reached the first results in 1993 for the development of industrial phenolic resins.

In 1996 the agreement between Çukurova Kimya Endüstrisi A.Ş. and “Borden Chemical UK. Ltd.” (Hexion Speciality Chemicals) was renewed with the addition of “know-how” transfer on industrial phenolic resins and refractory core-mould coatings. In 2006 the agreement was renewed with “Hexion Speciality Chemicals”

Today, Çukurova Kimya Endüstrisi serves its own wide range of products to global markets, all of which it continues to produce under its own license and brand name, in accordance with international quality standards.
